This year’s AGM is to be held on Monday 31st October 7.30pm at BAC/EE Preston Cricket Club. As ever, this meeting is vitally important and the opportunity for every member to have their say. Whether it be cricket subs, training, match preperation, finances, sponsorship and of course the captaincy / committee – there is plenty to discuss.

A Comedy Evening with Mike King

Dear Member,

This year out Annual Cricket Dinner takes a slightly different twist as it becomes “A Comedy Evening with Mike King” on Friday 8th April at BAC/EE Preston CC. The night will include a fabulous 4 course dinner served by new and proud sponsors, Wicket Banquets, as well as a barrel of laughter from Mike King and fellow comedian. Not forgetting the usual Heads & Tails, Stand Up Bingo and a great raffle.

Tickets are just £25 and the night is an open invitation for all Ladies & Gentlemen over the age of 16.

Your support in this event is paramount as the club seeks valuable funds for the coming season. Brand New Cricket Kit 2011

BAC/EE Preston CC are proud to announce that it’s players will have the chance to buy a new look and official cricket kit for the 2011 season. Thanks to the hard work of 1st XI wicket keeper, Alex Unsworth, BAC have teamed up with Kukri who will be suppliers of our new gear. The kit will also include the BAC/EE Preston crest. Below is a snapshot of how it will look (minus the crest).

Senior Sizing / Ordering Session

All Senior player’s are invited to attend a sizing session on Friday 28th January 7.30pm at the cricket club to try on the new kit and place an order. It’s imperative all player’s who are interested in purchasing the new kit attend on this day to place an order. You need to bring cash on the night in order to place an order.

There will be another sizing session arranged for Juniors – still to be confirmed.

Prices

In order to trigger a discount with Kukri we need to place over 40 orders in bulk. However, before discount the prices look like this:

Junior Indoor Cricket Nets 2011

A quick message to say that the Junior Indoor Net Practice begins on Monday 7th February 7-8pm at Tulketh High School. This will run until the last week in March. All Juniors between the age of 9 and 15 may attend.

As always, it’s important these sessions are attended and all new players are welcome to join us.

A quick message to say that the Senior Indoor Net Practice begins on Wednesday 26th January 8.30pm at Hutton Grammar School for 8 weeks. If you are over the age of 16 then you may come down and practice. Therefore our Under 17′s are invited to attend.

As always, it’s important these sessions are attended. The club need to cover the costs and it’s a great opportunity to get fit and get your eye in for the new season.

Winter Nets

Winter nets start on 18th February (Thursday), 6-7pm, at Preston College, St Vincents Road Fulwood. These times will be for February, with a possible later time for March. Cost as last year will be £3 a night, and we have got 2 lanes. It is really important that these are well attended, not only for fitness / sharpness with the bat and ball, but also it gets everyone together.

Junior Nets will be at Tulketh High on a Friday 7-8pm starting on 5th Feb, again £3 a night. Our Junior section is really important to us, so we hope attendance is high.

Annual Cricket Dinner – Friday 16th October 2009

The BAC/EE Preston Cricket Club would like to invite you along to the 2009 Annual Cricket Dinner.

This year’s event will be held in the ‘Riverside’ Function Suite at the BAC/EE Social & Sports Club, Preston on Friday 16th October 2009 starting 7.30pm prompt.

Sponsor tables are available at £300.00 per table which includes:

Seating for a maximum of 8 people
A 4-Course Dinner for each guest
Full evening entertainment including Guest Speaker and Comedian
Bottle of red and a bottle of white wine per table
Advertisement in the program

Other corporate packages are available and can be discussed with myself Bob Kirkby or Dave Wilcock including requests for larger number of guests, full page advertising, website links, club screen advertising and ground billboards.

This year we welcome in-house caterers ‘Wicket Banquets’ offering the 4-course set dinner, please notify us on booking your table of anyone requiring a vegetarian option.

We are pleased to welcome David Anthony Graveney OBE who is a leading figure in English cricket and former chairman of the England Test selectors, a post he held from 1997 until 2008. He is a qualified chartered accountant and is a former chief executive of the Professional Cricketers’ Association. He managed the rebel tour to South Africa in 1989-90 and became chairman of the selectors in 1997, taking over from Ray Illingworth. On 31 December 2005 he was awarded the OBE for services to cricket.

A Festival of Cricket featuring Gary Keedy’s Lancashire XI

AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 31ST AUGUST 2009.
FESTIVAL OF CRICKET WITH THE PALACE SHIELD / LANCASHIRE CCC

This year the BAC/EE Social & Sports Club is hosting “A Festival of Cricket” in conjunction with the Palace Shield league and Lancashire County Cricket Club.

The main purpose of the day is to support the benefit year for Gary Keedy and our very own BAC/EE Social & Sports Club, but it will also put the spotlight on various parts of the cricket league.

The Itinerary

The day will start at 9.30am with an East v West challenge match between Under 13 players from across the league. At 12.30pm, there will be a game featuring players from all clubs with first teams below the Premier Division probably split North v South. At 3.30pm, there will be a Twenty20 match featuring players from the Premier Division against Gary Keedy’s Lancashire XI.

This day will give some of the best players in our league the chance to challenge themselves against some of the best players in county cricket. It will also give a chance for players in the lower divisions a chance to show what they can do. Additionally, we will also be able to show that some of the best Under 13’s cricket in Lancashire is played within our league.

Entrance Fees

Entrance on the day will be £5 on the gate, but for BAC/EE Club members it will be given “FREE” entrance, only with a valid membership card. NO MEMBERSHIP card NO FREE ENTRY, or members prices at the bar!

Therefore we are giving you as much notice as possible for you to validate your club membership from as little as £5.20 (for the Year!). Players from our sporting sections, please check with your managers that your fees have been paid and cards have been issued.

Memberships for the club are as follows:

By being a valid member you are supporting your “Local Club” and the costs in running one of, if not the best, sporting / social facilities in Preston.

Hospitality

The club will be hosting various activities around the ground on the day, including raffles / tombola’s plus a ready supply of food and drinks will be available from the allocated areas around the ground and from the club house. This will include ‘Pie, Peas and a Pint’ for a Fiver! A ‘Sporting’ Sausage BBQ, Corporate / VIP designated dining and seated areas, a Pimm’s Marque serving other seasonal drinks like the clubs large range of Ciders and bottled lagers. Soft drinks / tea / coffee and sandwiches are also available from the pavilion kitchen. Again to gain members prices on the day, please bring your membership card!

VIP tables are available which will include your entrance and programme, food served from the clubs special VIP area and viewing platform from the clubs roof terrace. If you are interested in booking a VIP table then please contact Julie (Julie@baceeclub.co.uk)

Please be aware, the club does not allow the use of disposable BBQ’s on the ground and NO alcohol must be brought into the grounds.
